Welcome to thunderztech.com, in this guide you would be able to install TWRP recovery and root OnePlus 3 running Nougat beta 8. The TWRP recovery build is posted by an XDA member ‘eng.stk‘ and confirmed working on the OnePlus 3, further once you installed the TWRP then you need to flash the SuperSU package from there to get root access on your device. This is the same method we have already used for other devices, you can also take reference from our previous post where we used the same process. In this guide you have to flash the TWRP recovery on OnePlus 3 and then install the SuperSU root package from it to root your device.

How to install TWRP recovery and root OnePlus 3
Before you begin:

Enable USB Debugging (Settings >> Developer Options >> Enable USB debugging)
Your phone battery should be charged minimum 80%
Your device bootloader should be unlock or follow this detailed guide to unlock it.
Download latest OnePlus USB drivers ( Necessary for PC connection)
Download and Extract adb fastboot. (Necessary for commands section)
Process to install TWRP recovery on OnePlus 3
Just follow the below simple steps in sequence to install TWRP recovery on OnePlus 3.
Download the TWRP recovery from the link provided below and extract it, also rename in to recovery.img
Now connect your device to the PC using USB cable.
Open the adb-and-fastboot folder you extracted earlier and copy the TWRP recovery inside the adb-and-fastboot folder.
Inside adb-and-fastboot folder, press SHIFT and Right-Click on an empty space inside the same folder.
Click on ‘Open command prompt here’ as shown in picture below.
Now enter the following command to boot your device into bootloader mode,
adb reboot bootloader
Then type the following command to flash TWRP recovery in your device,
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Wait for the process to complete.
That’s it! You have successfully installed TWRP recovery on your OnePlus 3. Now proceed for the rooting process.
How to root OnePlus 3
Download the SuperSU zip from the link below.
Connect your device to PC and copy the downloaded SuperSU zip file on the internal storage of device.
Turn off your device completely.
Now turn it on again by pressing and holding Volume Up + Home + Power up simultaneously until your device boot into recently installed TWRP recovery.
In the recovery menu tap install and select the SuperSU.zip and flash it and then reboot your device
