Enable USB Debugging (Settings >> Developer Options >> USB debugging)

Your phone battery should be charged minimum 60%

Custom recovery like TWRP must be installed on your device or follow our custom recovery section and choose your device.

Process to install Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow on Nexus 7 2012

Just follow the below simple steps in sequence to update Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow on your Nexus 7 2012

Connect your device to your PC using USB cable and transfer the downloaded Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow ROM zip along on the internal storage of your device.

Turn of your device and boot into custom Recovery menu by the hardware keys combination or using any third party app (Mostly found in Play store).

Once your device enters into recovery mode, create a Nandroid backup of your device or follow our guide to create a Nandroid backup (this will create a backup of your complete device including current firmware) if something goes wrong you can restore your previous firmware.

Once the Nandroid process completes, navigate and select wipe data/factory reset.(this will erase your data)

Now it’s the time to flash the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow ROM on your device. Choose “install zip from sdcard” >> choose zip from sdcard & navigate to the folder in which you have copied the custom file and select it.

Swipe to confirm install, wait for a few minutes till the file is completely installed in your device.

Now perform the same method to install on your device.

Once completed, reboot your device.

Once the process is completed, reboot the device.
