Install Android 5.1.1 Lollipop on LG G Pad 7.0 V400/V410 LTE with CyanogenMod 12.1 ‘Nightly’ Custom ROM


In this guide we will guide you to install Android 5.1.1 Lollipop based CM12.1 on your LG G Pad 7.0 variants V400 & V410. The box opened LG G Pad 7.0 comes with a pre-installed Android 4.4.2 but can be upgraded to Android 5.0 Lollipop, that’s the limit set on it by Samsung but developers tested the latest firmware on this device in the form of custom ROMs and made it compatible for running the latest firmware Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. So the team CyanogenMod has officially released CM12.1 which is based on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop for LG G Pad 7.0 variants V400 & V410.

CyanogenMod not only provide latest firmware updates but also it includes a built in OTA system to provide future updates with improvements to the devices. LG G Pad 7.0 V400/V410 owner can easily flash this update, all you need is custom recovery installed in your device to flash the CM12.1 update. One thing you should keep in mind that these update are Nightly builds and you may notice minor bugs but nothing to worry about, feel free to install the CM12.1 with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop on your LG G Pad 7.0 .

How to install Android 5.1.1 Lollipop on LG G Pad 7.0 V400/V410 LTE with CyanogenMod 12.1 ‘Nightly’ Custom ROM

Before you Begin:

Disclaimer: This tutorial includes multiple operations which includes Installing Custom ROMs, Custom recovery and root. Follow the guide on your own risk, we are not responsible if you brick or damage your device however the chances of bricking a device are rare but you have to pay full attention on the complete guide to avoid any issues and difficulties while performing any of the above mentioned operation.

This tutorial is only for the LG G Pad 7.0, flashing this ROM on any other variant may result in serious damage to your device.


  • Please ensure your phone battery should be charged at minimum 80%
  • Download and install latest LG USB drivers
  • Your device should have a working CWM or TWRP recovery installed.

Process to install Android 5.1.1 Lollipop on LG G Pad 7.0 via CM12.1 ‘Nightly’ Custom ROM

Just follow these simple steps to flash Android 5.1.1 Lollipop firmware on your LG G Pad 7.0

Connect your LG G Pad 7.0 to your PC and copy the downloaded specified ROM zip file according to your device model along on internal storage of your device.

Now turn of your device and boot into Custom Recovery menu by the hardware keys combination or using any third party app (Mostly found in Play store).

Once your device enters into recovery Mode, create a Nandroid backup of your device or follow our guide to create a Nandroid backup (this will create a backup of your complete device including current firmware) if something goes wrong you can restore your previous firmware.

Once the Nandroid process completes, navigate and select wipe data/factory reset.(this will erase your data)

Now it’s the time to flash the CM12.1 ROM on your device. Choose “install zip from sdcard” >> choose zip from sdcard & navigate to the folder in which you have copied the custom file and select it.

Select “yes” to confirm install, wait for a few minutes till the file is completely installed in your device.

Once done with the above step, now apply the same process with the installation of Android 5.1.1 Lollipop Gapps.

Wait for the installation process to complete. The first boot up may take 5-7 minutes.

    I have LG PAD V.400 and upgrade it to 5.0.2, then the tablet starts work slower. I would like to downgrade it to 4.4.2 which was pretty good.
    Could you please advise me how to proceed?

      Download the stock firmware for your device and flash it using Odin
