Enable USB Debugging (Settings >> Developer Options >> USB debugging)
Your phone battery should be charged minimum 60%
A working TWRP recovery must be installed.
Download these files:
Download SuperSU v2.66
Process to root HTC One M9 on any firmware
Connect your device to PC and copy the SuperSu on device storage
Reboot your device to recovery. (TWRP or CWM)
Flash the SuperSU.zip
