Google Now updated: Allow Rotation and Icon Normalization


Google introduced wonderful rotation feature in the Google app version You will be be glad to know that the rotation feature includes landscape mode for both Home Screen and App drawer. The update Google app version update is not only limited to orientation feature but it is also packed with multiple improvements and introduced new feature including Now on Tap with exciting new animations and Icon Normalization.

The Home screen landscape orientation feature is pretty useful in certain conditions which includes if you are on a drive with your device mounted horizontally so it adjust the orientation itself without bothering you to do it manually. This latest feature was introduces in the Android 6.0 Marshmallow Developer Preview 2 but Google skipped the final build for any reason may be testing or what so ever.

The Normalization feature in the Google app version update is interesting so as the name suggest it adjusts the icon size in the Google Now launcher both in Home screen and the Apps drawer to give you a nicer look. The Google app update is not available for public right now but it is expected to release for public in the coming weeks.

How to Enable Auto Rotation feature in the Google Now Launcher

  • Download and update the latest Google App from Google Play or if you wish to enable the rotation feature on your device right now then just go ahead and join the Google App beta program.
  • Your Google App should be update to version
  • Press and hold any where on your Home screen


  • Tap setting and select the “Allow rotation” button below.
