Download Android 7.1.2 Nougat update for Pixel C, Nexus player and Pixel devices [NPG05E, NPG05D]

Google has started Android 7.1.2 Nougat beta update for it’s devices including Pixel /Pixel XL, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Pixel C and Nexus Player. According to the release notes released by Google, it is mentioned that the update is a maintenance update to Android Nougat with multiple improvements along bug fixes and more. If you are interested in flashing the Android 7.1.2 Nougat beta on your device just sign up for the Android Beta Program and you are in.

The OTA update for Nexus 5X is not available at the moment and Nexus 6P will be released later but if you want to flash the factory images without waiting for the OTA update just follow our step by step guide below. The update for Pixel devices carries build number NPG05E while for Nexus series it is NPG05D.

How to install Android 7.1.2 Nougat on Pixel C, Pixel/Pixel XL, Nexus Player

Before you Begin:

  • Please ensure your phone battery should be charged at minimum 80%
  • Enable USB Debugging, go to Settings >> Developer Options >> USB debugging
  • Download USB drivers for Nexus.
  • Your device bootloader should be unlock or Follow our guide (You can follow this guide as the bootloader unlock process is almost same for every Nexus device)
  • Download adb-and fastboot

Download Android 7.1.2 Nougat factory images for Google devices from the link provided below.

Once done with the pre-requisite files and tools needed in the installation process then just go ahead and follow the below simple steps.

Download the firmware files from the link mentioned below and extract the firmware into the adb-fastboot folder’s directory.

Now it’s time to turn off your device & reboot into bootloader mode, to do so press and hold the Volume down + Power button at the same time until you see a screen with fastboot written on the top.

Once your device reboots into bootloader mode, now open the ad-fastboot folder where you have extracted firmware.

Connect your device to PC and run the “flash-all.bat” file present in the same folder.

The installation process will take some and when it is completed you will be notified.
